Dr. Richard Meier practiced full scope Behavioral Optometry for 36 years in Reno. He is a native Nevadan born and raised in Reno. He graduated with honors from UNR with a degree in Biology and graduated with distinction from Optometry School at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.
My practice focused on answering the question what does a patient want or need ie, glasses, contacts, healthy eyes, disease treatment, vision therapy to improve sports performance, reading, or low vision enhancement.
Dr Meier’s passion is allowing a person to achieve everything in life and not allow vision to stand in his/her way. He prescribes vision therapy to help patients see, improve eye hand coordination, reaction time, and read more efficiently.
Currently he is teaching Perceptual Stress Therapy to Improv students to increase their processing speed and to reduce stress when doing Improv. Improv and Yes And philosophy stresses being able to see opportunities when reacting to the world.
Dr. Meier explores the world. He likes to hike, bike, travel, wood work, and figure things out. He has run 44 marathons. He has been married to Sue for 45 years and he has two sons and twin grand daughters.
